.Job Description SummaryAs an aviation engines control systems lead engineer, you are responsible for solving highly-complex problems and partnering with smart teammates to build the future of flight by delivering impactful products to customers all around the world. Your responsibilities range from reviewing product requirements and designing aircraft engine control software that fulfills them, to translating requirements to engineering tasks and implementing them. The position includes the design, test (system simulation), project management, and maintenance of engine control logic, application software, real-time modeling, hardware interfaces, engine/aircraft testing in both laboratory and field environments in support of engineering and test activities to assure General Electric Aviation's commercial engines perform in a safe, efficient, and robust manner.Roles and ResponsibilitiesIdentify, develop, evaluate, introduce, and manage engineering solutions for product control and control system technology needs. Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design and control systems with desired behaviors. Includes operability, setting of boundaries, cycle optimization, control logic, control related software, sensors, hardware and software algorithms, and feedback to control the performance of devices, subsystems, and systems.Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understandingto accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.Uses some level of judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Provides informal guidance to new team members.Required QualificationsThis role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Controls Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).Solid contribution in a similar role or previous position.Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.English skills: Must be able to maintain a simple conversation in English.Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate with Senior Leadership.Demonstrated ability in managing described projects across functions.Capable of coaching others to accomplish assignments.Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership experience
