**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Responsible for negotiation with vendors, obtain and analyze RFQs to ensure the best costs, payment terms and delivery options for new components and existing material based on BOMs.
- Managing and processing all RFQs, receive and evaluate pricing for New Businesses.
- Responsible for the initial purchase of all Raw Materials, set up material registration and maintain / update the Purchasing database.
- Create and distribute purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Identify, assess, and engage potential suppliers for continued sourcing opportunities.
- Identify cost improvement opportunities by localization, direct profit, point of purchase optimization, increased purchase volume, support VA/VE, and cost negotiations with the supply base before and after program launch.
- Track, record and achieve savings against defined targets and report progress to Management.
- Establishes internal meetings with core functions teams / stakeholders to understand upcoming engineering changes and support ECR process completion.
- Manage and follow New Supplier Process to ensure that all new suppliers are set up timely and accurately in the system, and meet required criteria.
- Identify and communicate supplier risks, facilitate escalation meetings, and follow-up on recovery measures.
- Continuous improvement activities by identifying changes and enhancements to Purchasing systems or processes.
**Experience, Education and Licensure**
- Bachelor's Degree _or_ an Equivalent combination of Education and Experience highly preferred
- Knowledge of various software programs; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MRP-based planning systems
- Working knowledge of PLEX is a plus
- 2 - 4 years automotive experience.
- Background in Automotive wire harness industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Purchasing practices
- Ability and willingness to travel ( domestic and international ) when needed
- Strong organizational skillset
