**Job Summary**
This position is a trusted advisor to senior leadership and will work with diverse groups of stakeholders to get results in a complex and fast paced environment. You will oversee the organizations' legal and data privacy function in Mexico. Responsible for setting the overall philosophy and strategy of the organization regarding legal matters and ensuring that all practices, policies, and business activities of the organization fall within the bounds of the organization's legal posture.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist management throughout the company on matters relating to:
- Material purchase and sale agreements
- Credit issues and all other matters which may arise there from
- Equipment purchases and sales
- Real Estate arrangements, especially leases
- Corporate relations with the general public
- Corporate recordkeeping (board resolutions, minutes, stock certificates etc.)
- Participate in the definition and development of corporate policies procedures and programs and provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters relating thereto
- Advise on the merits of court cases filed for or against the company, work with the appropriate executive(s) to define direction and approve settlements of disputes where these are agreed
- Assist executives with ensuring that Kloeckner conducts its business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Develop and implement Kloeckner Mexico guidelines on data privacy
- Reports all instances of security breaches or attempted breaches
- Review data privacy provisions in sales and vendor contracts
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
- 5+ years' experience as a practicing lawyer, with a national or international law firm or corporation, with extensive transactional experience.
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex agreements, including lease agreements.
- Experience in the cost-effective management of outside legal resources.
- Experience in advising on data privacy and data protection matters
- Fluency in Spanish and English required
**Education**
- Accredited Mexican Law Degree with strong academic credentials
- Qualified to practice law in Mexico
