.SGI Global LLC is seeking fluent Spanish speaking Correctional Reintegration/Reinsertion Advisor to support the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Mexico City, Mexico, which requires professional and administrative support services to work with the U.S. Foreign Assistance Program to Mexico.Responsibilities:The position is in Mexico City, Mexico with extensive travel to other locations in Mexico, the United States, and other countries as required. Provide advice on integrated case management and support services throughout the Mexican states which assist with removing barriers that interfere with an offender's successful transition from prison to the community. Provide technical assistance advice, training, mentoring, and support to Mexican partners in corrections reinsertion and reintegration best practices in the management of prisoners being released from prisons. Develop and train Government of Mexico (GOM) staff in a reintegration/reinsertion and prepare prisoners for their release into society.Assist partners to identify, cultivate, and sustain relationships necessary to create a community support network and decrease the likelihood of recidivism.Assist the GoM in maintaining, developing, and implementing a reintegration reinsertion program.Conduct scheduled diagnostic, follow-up, visits to federal and priority state correctional facilities in Mexico, assessing the needs of prisoners as they prepare for release and reporting on needs, capacities, shortcomings, and progress achieved toward reaching a reinsertion program.Assist and advocate for program partners and community resources, particularly in the areas of housing, employment, education, medication, peer relations, social activities, relapse prevention, and reducing recidivism. Prepare written materials, including background documents, reports, and briefings. Qualifications:Mexican citizen or Third Country National.FSI Level 4/4 Spanish. FSI level 3/3 English.Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, social sciences, or a similar field; or Associate degree with five (5) years related experience from an accredited institution or; ten (10) years of related experience in the justice sector, law enforcement, international development, international affairs, or public administration.A combination of ten (10) years of education and work experience in the private or government sector in community reentry services, mental health, or criminal justice system. Must be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, including assisting people with intentional reentry planning
