**Role Description**: The Cost Accountant manages and analyzes financial information related to the costs of producing goods or services. The primary focus is on cost control, cost analysis, and providing relevant information to support decision-making. This role is crucial for helping businesses optimize operations, improve efficiency, and make informed financial decisions.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage and analyze costs to support strategic decisions.
- Provide information for planning and resource allocation.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Prior experience in cost accounting and familiarity with maquiladora environments.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
**Skills**:
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data.
- Clear communication skills to convey cost-related information effectively.
- High attention to detail for accurate cost calculations and financial reporting.
- Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and propose solutions.
- Collaborative skills to work with other departments such as operations and supply chain.
**Location and Travel**:
- The position will be based at the CUU Plant.
- Travel will include trips to Dallas, Chicago, and potentially the UK.
- This is a new position and will evolve over time; initially, there may be little to no travel with the primary focus being on the CUU plant.
- A passport for travel is advantageous but not required.
**Language**:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (at least B2 level).
**Software**:
- Proficiency in Office, especially advanced Excel, and NetSuite.
