**PRIMARY FUNCTION**:
The position is responsible for cost accounting and analysis functions for the organization.
Reporting to the CFO, this person shall analyze manufacturing costs; maintain the cost accounting system; and develop and report key performance metrics.
**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Maintain and improve the manufacturing cost system, including establishing standard costs, and maintaining overall responsibility for costs and cost analysis
- Performance of variance analysis, productivity measures, labor efficiencies and utilization, and other key operations metrics
- Perform reporting and analysis of inventory changes, raw material purchases, and profit margins
- Support planning and budgeting of manufacturing operations
- Assist in the development and implementation of new and improved reporting and analysis methodologies
- Assist the Accounting Manager in the month end close of the general ledger
- A background in cost accounting with a sound understanding of accounting principles is ideal.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must have a cost systems background and have strong analytical skills
- Must have very strong Excel skills.
- Experience in Mapics or Infor a plus but not required
- Must be bi-lingual (English & Spanish)
- Must have experience with multi-plant manufacturing
- Short-distance cross-border travel will be required (El Paso-Juarez)
**EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Master's degree a plus.
- Strong educational background in accounting, mathematics, statistics, or systems
- Experience with maquiladora business model a major plus
