POSITION SUMMARYThe Costing Engineer supports the business and the new product development process by tracking costs and ensuring targets are met.RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with operations and procurement teams to identify cost reduction opportunities, evaluate proposals and implement engineering change orders to realize better cost positions on Vertiv products.Collaboration across the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, as well as production, service, quality and offering teams. Work with these teams for design reviews, meeting cost metrics, and brainstorming around customer pain points.Identify and advocate for process and system improvements that help streamline the business and reduce waste.Collect and analyze cost data from Oracle ERP and track realization of savings.Submit engineering change orders in Oracle PLM, releasing design changes including BOM and CAD documentation.Create/modify mechanical parts/assemblies/drawings in CAD systems, such as Creo and/or Solid Edge.Create and maintain Bill of Materials, released using product lifecycle management tools.Review Change Orders and determine impact of changes on costs.Perform a variety of engineering calculations using traditional engineering methods to verify design requirements.Implement product changes to solve field issues, support service department.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent1-3 years of experienceBasic working knowledge of electrical and mechanical concepts and productsUnderstand the manufacturing technologies such as Sheet metal, Fab & Machining, Composites, Cable and Harness, among others.Familiarity with MRP and ERP systems; preferred OracleBasic mechanical CAD experience; preferred 3D CAD; preferred Creo or Solid EdgeCapable of preparing data analysis and reporting with ExcelExcellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skillsAbility to multitask and operate in cross functional global development teams.#J-18808-Ljbffr
