Responsible for representing the Wesco Anixter Latin America organization and handling various legal matters, including complex matters, and leading projects and negotiations with specialized knowledge in one or more legal practice areas, including business litigation, commercial law and sales, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, securities and financing, etc. Responsible for providing strategic counsel, advice, and legal services to management regarding business activities, transactions, projects and negotiations in support of Wesco Anixter's operations through out Latin America. May supervise and provide guidance to associate counsel..
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for handling and leading a variety of legal matters, including complex legal and commercial matters, and projects with specialized knowledge in various practice areas.
- Responsible for leading project teams and cross-functional groups on a wide range of legal and compliance matters through out Latin America.
- Collaborates with business leaders and cross-functional teams in the region to effectively mitigate commercial risks and support corporate strategies and business objectives.
- Expertise in relevant regional legal practice areas and provides counsel related to those areas to business clients through out the region.
- Provides practical and actionable advice to management on legal matters, including developments and changes in laws and regulations through out Latin America, and develops policies and ensures compliance in those areas.
- Negotiates, drafts, and reviews legal documents and agreements to accomplish business objectives and serves as a legal advocate for the company with external constituents through out the region.
- Working closely with and advising the regional Human Resources team and management on a variety of labor and employment issues, including compliance with laws applicable to hiring, paying, disciplining and terminating employees.
- Supervises and provides direction to other team members and may lead a practice area.
- Over 7 years required of significant experience in a law firm, preferably a national or major regional firm, or in-house department, preferably for a large corporation, focusing on Latin America.
- Over 7 years of experience required of complex legal document drafting, review, and negotiations, including multi-national and regional complex documentation.Responsible for handling and leading a variety of legal matters, including complex legal matters, and projects with specialized knowledge in various practice areas.

- Strong negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Latin America legal and compliance issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including drafting complex legal contracts and documents.

- Full Professional Fluency in Spanish and English are required.
