Eaton's ES AMER Sector division is currently seeking a Customs Generalist.
**What you'll do**:
**PRIMARY FUNCTION**:
The Customs Generalist is responsible for providing direct support to Customs Manager, to ensure temporary inventory and import/export activity meet with all Mexican Customs regulations for the site, including material, information, and technology. There are roughly 223 customs requirements per business (Site and Distribution Center), that this position needs to ensure to maintain the current certifications and government programs such as IMMEX, PROSEC, OEA programs, and VAT certification for both legal entities related. This position is also responsible for maintaining and updating compliance documents to reflect current regulatory requirements and procedures. It is also responsible for engagement delivery, customs compliance and quality, productivity and report management and exception management, as well as reporting metrics or KPIs of their operation in charge. Responsible for managing and run reports for monthly reconciliation related to Annex 24 / 31.

- **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
- Ensure Import and Export operations are carried out in accordance with the programs or based on instructions received and in compliance with the customs law
- Ensure the data integrity of Trade Compliance processes.
- Strong knowledge of implementing regulatory requirements in a manufacturing/operations environment
- Attend internal and customs audits and any other requirements from SAT.
- Elaborate reports on a monthly basis for Import and Export analysis
- Oversee Mexican sites in charge, being in compliance with reporting management, including among others like Annual IMMEX report, INEGI report, Sub-manufacturer report, etc.
- Assist in Inventory reconciliation of Fixed Assets vs Import Records (Open Balance).
- Assist to keep the legal entity in compliance to warranty the certifications and programs accredited like IMMEX, OEA, CT-PAT, PROSEC, etc.
- Ability to balance rule-driven processes with creative problem-solving skills;
- Intermediate-Level Trade Compliance Specialist.
- Analyze and propose strategies to integrate regional content into finished products in order to meet the criteria of international treaties.
- Assist to obtain NAFTA Certificates of Origin and Affidavit from the Manufacturer of Raw Material Suppliers.
- Audit the NAFTA Certificates of Origin and the Affidavits of the Manufacturer of the Raw Material Supplier
- Organize and manage both physical and electronic folders of Certificates of origin
- Active role in external audits in relation to certificates of origin.

- Bachelor's degree in Trade Compliance and/or Customs Law.
- 1- 5 years of experience in the aforementioned field.
- Fluent in English-Spanish
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Excel audit formulas)
