Provides high quality, cost effective, and efficient service to meet current and future demands. Optimizes facilities utilization, process execution and compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations. Provides oversight and direction regarding assigned team, financial and operational activities.Principal Responsibilities:- Responsible for a team managing inbound and outbound shipments, achieving an optimal balance between cost and customer service.- Oversees the freight payment process and continually works to reduce transportation costs.- Negotiates competitive rates, service level agreements and shipping terms.- Implements and analyzes systems and process efficiencies.- Monitors carrier compliance and optimizes carrier performance to contract terms.- Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics.- Other duties as assigned.Job Level Specifications:- Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business or technical support teams comprised of individual contributors. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion.
