Job DescriptionThis is an on-site role, requiring availability to change shifts.What you will do:As a Production Group Leader, you are responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment.Participate in the training, developing, and evaluating of hourly team members.Develop highly effective teams, lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes, and serve as a resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.Meet or exceed production cost schedules and maintain quality requirements.Maintain awareness of quality standards, communicate department quality goals, and leverage resources to solve quality issues.Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union, and management.Understand and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.Implement and follow systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues. Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety, and housekeeping.Motivate, train, and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods.Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements.Coach, teach, counsel, and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree: Industrial Engineer, LAE, or similar.Required experience in a similar position: 1 to 3 years.Available to change shifts.English Level: Advanced.Key Skills: Experience working with groups, inventory control experience, MS; Mainframe: IMS Experience; Microsoft Office (Word,Excel, PowerPoint); Sistema de gestión de almacenes (WMS); Workday; WorkplaceSafety System.Demonstrate expertise in knowledge of required processes to perform the job effectively utilizing standardized methods.Motivate direct reports and/or business partners through effective communication, training, coaching, development, and recognition.High level of oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work with others.Knowledge and application of Global Manufacturing System (GMS).Achieve Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost key performance indicators.Demonstrate safety culture; implement and lead workplace safety rules and policies.Maintain effective communication with employees, union representatives, and management team encouraging a positive workplace.Evaluate team members' performance on a daily basis.High degree of resilience to frustration.Remember to attach your CV when applying to this vacancy.#J-18808-Ljbffr
