A data architect is responsible of developing and implementing an overall organizational data strategy that is in line with business processes. The strategy includes data model designs, database development standards, implementation and management of data warehouses and data analytics system.
Data architects build and maintain a company's database by identifying structural and installation solutions and considered to develop, optimize, and oversee our company's conceptual and logical data systems.
Their duties include identifying a company's internal and external data sources, collaborating with department heads to determine their data storage and organizational needs, and using the information to create and maintain data infrastructure for company employees. This role will be responsible for the governance and quality of the data in all IT solutions.
Duties
- Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
- Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
- Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data
- Determining the requirements for a new database
- Coordinating with other team members to reach project milestones and deadlines
- Auditing database regularly to maintain quality
Qualifications — Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field
- Strong math and analytical skills are essential to complete job requirements successfully.
- Able to compile and organize statistical information retrieved and present findings to management.
- Confident in decision making and the ability to explain processes or choices as needed.
- Strong computer skills and ability to use necessary databases and software.
- Interpersonal and customer service skills are required when meeting with and interviewing potential clients
- Excellent multitasking skills and task management strategies
- Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Manage and guide team on complexity data solutions
- 5+ years on the role or similar
- Fluent English
