As an intern, you will partner with senior Data Center Engineering Operator (DCEO) leaders to support our data centers. The DCEO will learn to oversee the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, control and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The DCEO will be trained to serve as a technical resource to support Amazon within our data centers. DCEOs are Amazon's front line respondents for electrical and mechanical issues affecting Amazon's availability. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, switchboards/switch-gears, substations high, medium and low voltage, UPS's, STS's, FPC's, PDU's, DAHU's, CRAHUs, CRAC's, pumps, motors, VFD's, CHILLERS, FFS and building automation systems such as BMS and EPMS.

This candidate should be willing to work both independently and with a team. This team works in an environment that operates 24/7.

Interns at Amazon Mexico work 6 hours a day (30 hours/week) for 12 months (between January 2025 and January 2026). Participants will join Amazon as Interns at our Queretaro Amazon Data Services.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Technical or Bachelor Degree in applicable engineering field (mechanical or electrical)
- Available to complete a 12-month internship working 30 hours/week

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Ability to read, understand and communicate ideas with native English speakers
- Advanced ability to communicate verbally and in written form in Spanish
- Basic knowledge in most aspects of installation and troubleshooting of networking hardware, software and fiber connectivity, combined with a background in project delivery methodology is desirable.
- Understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgears, substations high, medium and low voltage, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units, CHILLERS
- Familiar with BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending
- Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment
