Chubb is looking for a Azure Database Platform Engineering Professional with a Bachelor's Degree to join our Global Data Platform team. Chubb's Global Data Platform (GDP ) team manages multi cloud Data and Analytics capabilities and is responsible for cutting edge technlogies like Azure, Synapse, Snowflake, DataBricks, OpenAI, Informatica, Dataiku and Alteryx. Our Technology teams are dedicated to creating competitive advantages in products, customer services and business costs by driving digital transformation in our business with a modernized focus on agile methodology and data analytics.
**Responsibilities**
- Expert advisor to Data engineers for all things SnowFlake
- Documents and enforces platform standards and best practices. Keeping up with Product roadmaps and upgrades.
- Automates routine tasks like Project and User onboarding, support activities
- Cost Optimization
- Good working knowledge of automation tools like Jenkins, ansible and powershell.
- Thorough understanding of Relational and No-SQL database concepts
- Monitoring, Optimization and Tuning.
- Configuration and administration of Azure specific components like storage (ADLS), security (AAD), Log Analytics etc
- Integrating with Enterprise Security, Auditing and Monitoring Frameworks.
- Backup Recovery, HA and DR
- Working with architects, Tech leads in identifying and fixing issues and solution gaps.
- Working with Vendor for Level II support
- Identifying fixes for open-source software's using community support.
- Mentoring and coaching junior staff.
- Researching and develop modern data services and enhancments
- Build proof of concepts & prototypes to solve emerging challenges
- Stay current with new data technologies and programming models
- Be self-motivated and creative.
**Experience and Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or related engineering field
- 6+ years of professional experience with atlease 2+ in managing Snowflake ecosystem with focus on supporting critical systems, performance tuning and monitoring
- Highly Skilled Platform Engineers in Synapse, SQLServer or any database appliance experience and willing to learn SnowFlake are welcome to apply.
- 2+ years of experience in cloud data lake technologies, preferably Azure
- Skilled in SQL, NoSQL, Scripting, Terraform and other cloud and Automation technologies
- Experience in mordern data design and best practices
- Experience in backup, recovery, performance tuning and optimization
- Familiar with working in linux operating system and scriptingAzure certifications such as Azure solutions Architect Expert is a plus.
