This position is contingent upon contract award.ResponsibilitiesSupport the Chief of Party (COP) and serve as the secondary or alternate liaison with USAID.Support the COP in all aspects of project management and serve as Acting COP as needed.Provide technical direction for activities concerned with rule of law and criminal justice.Serve as technical specialist related to the scope of the project and provide nuanced knowledge of the Mexican context.Support the COP in developing and maintaining effective partnerships with counterparts, including a broad range of government institutions.Coordinate with the technical and administrative teams to develop, implement, and modify annual work plans and detailed budgets.Oversee and participate in the drafting of project deliverables, including annual plans/reports, quarterly reports, MEL plans, success stories, and additional deliverables.Ensure compliance with USAID, USG, and company regulations.Provide inputs into capacity development activities, including grants, recommending adaptations based on lessons learned.Identify successful practices and learning that can be showcased in publications, communication materials, and conferences with USAID and the broader development community.Serve as the Acting Chief of Party when so appointed.QualificationsA bachelor's degree with ten (10) years' experience in the development field.Minimum of five (5) years of experience related to rule of law and criminal justice.Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills with demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively with a wide range of staff and stakeholders.Experience working with senior government officials and building consensus among diverse actors.Experience leading technical teams implementing complex activities in the desired sectors.Proficiency in English required.Local candidates encouraged to apply.Professional proficiency in oral and written English and Spanish
