Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Design Hardware Development Engineer located in Juarez Norte.
Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager the Design Hardware Development Engineer's role involves
What a typical day looks like:
- Responsible of wiring design not limited to engineering, design, validation, drawing correctness, and DFM/DFA.
- Create and Review 2D prints of wire harness assemblies including all necessary information required to define and draw wire harness according to customer specifications.
- Support and collaborate with Wiring designers to drafting 2D prints from 3D math data, defining material and engineering specifications.
- Prepare RED Mark-up and Delta's costing and 2D print release for a wire harness.
- Create and Develop information for uscar21 validation.
- Collaborate in First Piece Sign Off review with customer, internal and external.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with product and business development teams.
- Assist in developing engineering designs and implement engineering changes.
- Support and coordinate with commercial teams by generating bills of materials (Boms) for New Business Opportunities, New Product Introduction & Current Programs pulling from experience, customer prints, and other research to specify engineering components not fully defined in these opportunities.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Intermediate English
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree, Industrial Eng, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical
- Automotive Wiring experience preferred.
- 2D print interpretation and Customer specifications comprehension.
- Bill of Materials from scratch
- Selection of components and uscar21 validation
- Use of the following tools may be required: Wire Harness, XC or other, Schematics, wire harness assembly process/board, component testing.
- Inspection, tools. Office skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation package.
- Maintain good communication skills internally and with customer.
- Knowledge with the preparation of drawings in Autocad
- Experience with component selection.
- Application Engineer works alongside Design Release Engineer
- Knowledge with quotations
