RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for mechanical and electrical designs and solutions for both new and existing electric motors/coil/actuator assemblies in a cross-functional engineering team environment.Work on multiple projects in a cross-functional team environment to support New Product Development (NPD) and Production.Direct contact with the customers to understand their specifications/needs and determine the best solution, converting customer requirements into electro-mechanical solutions.Approach the solutions to optimize system performance and be capable of leading a project through the design/development process to production.Take direction from the Design, Engineering, and NPI Manager but be capable of managing the day-to-day work independently.Design electrical circuits/devices while maintaining project schedule deadlines.Circuit modeling and component selection for high reliability and high-temperature applications.Design for MIL-STD-461 requirements and ESD protection.Revise electrical designs and schematics per test data and observations. Perform thermal and duty cycle analysis.Assess and recommend replacement components and/or redesign for obsolescence issues.Participate in floor operations to aid manufacturing, testing, rework, and troubleshooting activities.Work with product development project teams as the engineering design lead.Participate in hands-on troubleshooting activities.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMechanical or Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent.At least 3 years of experience in design and development with a strong emphasis on the manufacturing process, including but not limited to work instructions.Highly adept at organizing projects from initial directives through fabrication, assembly, QC, and initial production.Experience in Aerospace or Military Industry is a plus.Minimum of 3 years of experience doing detailed CAD design. Solidworks strongly preferred as it is the current drawing package.Knowledge of AC/DC motors, solenoid, and actuator controls. Experience specifying and designing hall effect arrays and various associated electronics and circuitry.Excellent written and verbal skills including intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.Self-starter attitude with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and flexible to changing business demands.Bilingual.Occasional regional and international travel is required (up to 20%).
