**Job Description**:
As a Design Engineer Jr you will support engineering development and design of all mechanical functions and components of Electronic Control Units with simultaneous consideration of Design for Reliability, Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly.
- Group is responsible for advanced development activities for communication modules that enable autonomous driving/advanced driver assistance systems.
- Currently working on next generation connectivity modules including OTA update abilities.
- Development projects include multi-core/high-speed hardware solutions and hardware based cyber security solutions, as well as audio video bridging (AVB).
**Responsibilities**:
Design engineer is responsible for all mechanical development of the product meeting manufacturing, safety, quality, cost, compliance and marketing objectives. Prepare 3D models using top-down design for 3D CAD files and 2D prints preparation for both manufacturing and customer, BOMs and technical data release for product documentation along product lifecycle following Bosch product engineering guideline concerning the product assigned. Support engineering changes, cost reduction projects and competitive analysis tasks.
Technical responsibility of all mechanical product development aspects of Automotive Electronics, including the following:
1. Develop, maintain, engineer, trace and verify Mechanical Product Requirements using the V-Model approach.
2. Derive engineering solutions that meet customer and internal requirements by using multiple engineering tools including CAD, CAE and others.
3. Responsible for driving the decision-making process to select solutions that consider simultaneously Design to Cost, Design for Reliability, Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly
4. Responsible for the verification of requirements and functions by deriving CAE, analytical and physical validation plans (DVP&R, PVP&R)
5. Responsible for creating, maintaining and releasing product development quality deliverables such as Engineering/Design Reviews, FMEAs, Special Characteristics, and Technical Risk Management.
6. Responsible for creating, maintaining and releasing product engineering deliverables and specifications such as 3D CAD Models, Tolerance Analysis (2D, 3D, Statistical, GD&T), 2D CAD Component and Assembly Drawings.
8. Lead the product industrialization from the mechanical perspective with the plants in consideration of Lean Manufacturing practices and DFMA.
9. Lead the development of risk analysis and assessments during product launch phases
10. Responsible for cross-function collaboration with multiple product disciples including Hardware Electronic Design, Software, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, etc.
11. Support required for quotation processes for potential new projects.
12. Strong interaction with different stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors
13. ECRs (engineering changes) management with customer and value stream.

**Required Qualifications**:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree, with focus on product design and mechatronics.
- Advance working knowledge using Creo 4.0 or above.
- Knowledgeable on the FMEA Method (AIAG, VDA or others)
- Practical and proven experience with GD&T. ASME Y14.5 Certification preferred.
- Advance English level
- Basic German language knowledge is a bonus.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Product Engineering throughout the whole Product Life Cycle. Preferred knowledge in automotive development life cycle.
- Knowledgeable with DFSS, Lean Product Development, Robust Design, and other design methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge in structural mechanics, heat transfer and thermal design.
- Basic experience using Ansys for static structural simulations.
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and electronics.
- Knowledge in Matlab, Minitab and/or Python for engineering, numerical and statistical data
