OVERVIEW The Development Officer - USCRI Latin America, supports the growth and operations of USCRI's development team in Aguascalientes, Mexico and its field offices in Latin America. The position will be responsible for identifying, managing, writing, and submitting government, intergovernmental organizations, and private sector grant proposals, and supporting USCRI Headquarters' programmatic and fundraising goals. In addition, they will be the point of contact for all donors and external partners for USCRI's field offices in Latin America and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be flexible with strong interpersonal skills, open to taking on varied responsibilities, and a self-starter. The position reports to the Associate Director of Grants and Partnerships. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResearch regional and international funding opportunities from various sources, including government, intergovernmental organizations, foundations, and corporations.Analyze funding opportunities to assess whether they meet USCRI's priority goals and draft decision memos to recommend relevant opportunities.Manage the process of developing, writing, and submitting funding proposals in collaboration with key internal partners, including Finance and Program staff.Track progress of all grant solicitations for USCRI, including those considered or submitted from beginning to outcome.Monitor the implementation and results of grant funded projects in line with donor expectations.Cultivate strong relationships with government, intergovernmental organizations, foundation, and corporate partners and ensure timely and accurate reports to funders.Maintaining proposal records and communications in the grant and donor database.Generate periodic reports, including quarterly reports to the Board of Directors, annual work plans and monthly accomplishments.Create mechanisms and tools to improve the development strategy of USCRI in Latin America; Coordinate closely with Associate Director of Grants and Partnerships and VP of Strategic Development to define new projects that follow the strategy and vision of the organization; Research and remain informed about the situation and regional trends in the migration field, humanitarian funding, institutions, and NGOs
