The Consumer Sales Sr Grp Mgr manages multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function.
A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business.
Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual / practical grounding in both the function and / or area of expertise and related subject areas.
Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication / negotiation may be necessary.
Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s).
Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses.
Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country / site location, job family, or line of business.
Responsibilities:
Provides overall leadership and management of a consumer function; develops strategies and detailed business plans.
Works with key stakeholders to create and manage reliable and predictable processes that will improve end-to-end turnaround times and significantly increase client satisfaction.
Aligns capabilities, captures synergies and resolves conflicts in setting standards.
Ensures harmonization of common standards across businesses.
Identifies opportunities to leverage capabilities across businesses.
Works in partnership with functional geographic leadership to establish and document the global standard Common Operating Model for lending processes.
Serves as the global subject matter expert for functionality, business and process related expertise.
Gathers and shares best practices from both internal / external sources for the development and deployment of lending workflow systems.
Communicates changes coordinating with the Global team, Regional Heads and other stakeholders.
Tracks progress and compliance, particularly through initial implementation phase.
Develops a timely, factual and transparent communication process between delivery units and relationship sales units - jointly with Risk and technology.
Works with regional management teams to develop organizational plans, budgets and financial controls to meet strategic plans and objectives and ensure communication of such to appropriate internal management.
Ensures organization strictly adheres to internal control policies.
Ensures that the organization's activities are carried out in accordance with all regulatory, legal, and governmental regulations.
Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervising the activity of others and creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
15+ years management experience in banking, with increasing levels of responsibility.
Direct experience in lending process management and workflow lending / credit systems.
Cross-border project or business management experience.
Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned.
Education:
Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience.
