**Director of Communications**:Community Phone is looking for a PR and communications expert to help us build our brand, capture a considerable PR opportunity, and establish us as a leader in the consumer and business phone service space.The primary focus of the role will be to support our marketing strategy by securing stories in local and national publications about the shutdown of copper wire landline service across the country. You'll empower journalists to share how Community Phone is helping underserved communities keep their landline phones, and more importantly, their connection to friends and loved ones.More broadly, you'll establish PR as a tool to build our brand, and drive the strategy to establish Community Phone as a known provider in the massive phone service space.**About Us**Community Phone is building the easiest way to reach a human by voice. Today, we are the fastest-growing landline phone service alternative provider. We help seniors, and their loved ones keep their landline phone at a lower cost, unbundled from services like cable and internet. We also work with businesses like KFC, Starbucks, and thousands of small businesses to provide reliable, flexible business phone service.Our product serves vulnerable populations like low-income seniors who rely on their landline phone service to communicate. Thanks to recent FCC deregulation, traditional providers are shutting off their old-fashioned landline service and forcing customers to switch to internet-based home phone service that they don't want and can't afford.Most of the 100 million+ landline phone users (as well as the journalists who write stories for them) are not aware their service will likely be cut in the next 4 years.**About you**- You have worked at a fast-growing startup, and are experienced in building a PR system that drives business results.- You've built a program that earns coverage in local publications, not just national or trade publications- You know how to position general interest stories to bring focus back to the company and the product- You want to work with marketing and product to figure out what type of proprietary data we can collect that will open up more PR opportunities- You are comfortable talking directly with customers to tell real stories of how the company has made people's lives better- You can own the development of customer stories and testimonials, and build a program that gets happy customers to share their experiences on review sites**Our Process**Initial interview with our recruiterWriting Sample reviewHiring Manager interviewLeadership interviewVirtual On-site
