Play a key role in ensuring the appearance, functionality and integrity of the property are optimized while implementing strategies that support efficiency and sustainability.Maintain complete knowledge of resort fire system, well water system, septic system, etc.Responsible for oversight of all resort systems, heat, light, and power; seeks ongoing efficiencies and best usage of energy, electricity, etc.; makes ongoing recommendations for efficiencies, cost savings, and operational improvements.Implements and monitors ongoing preventive maintenance program for equipment, guest rooms and public areas. Ensures proper maintenance of buildings, equipment, and landscape. Personally conducts inspections, troubleshooting, supervision, and repair work for all areas of the resort.Maintains written standards of department performance expectations.Develops and maintains a strategy to ensure guest rooms, public areas, heart of house, laundry and kitchen equipment are code compliant and meet service expectations.Proactively monitors guest feedback and identifies root cause solutions for hotel defects.Regularly educates team members on preventive maintenance and equipment use.Serves as a member of the Resort leadership team, partnering with peers to ensure facilities are in good working order.Functions as the overall leader for the Engineering department:Implements cross training to build skill levels and competency within the department.Counsels team members on work performance and recommends disciplinary actions as needed.Schedules, completes various labor reports, makes assignments for work orders, manages department payroll.Holds team members accountable for departmental standards.Prepares and implements the department strategic plan, operational budget, and monthly forecasts.Researches and prepares capital requests for approval and subsequent implementation.Ensures safety issues are addressed on a timely basis. Leads the Safety Committee.Coordinates and monitors work performed by outside contractors based upon the operational needs of the hotel.Utilizes Alice software to track and ensure completion of work tickets in a timely manner.Responds to emergency situations.QualificationsMinimum of five years' experience as a Chief Engineer in a hospitality field.Proven leadership, management and administrative skills
