They provide fully integrated, customized, turnkey energy solutions via financing, constructing, and operating natural gas infrastructure and logistics. Their mission is to lead the way in energy transformation using their expertise across power, infrastructure, transportation, and LNG. The company has a proven history of commissioning and operating liquefaction facilities, onshore and offshore regasification terminals, pipelines, power plants, and small-scale solutions worldwide.
Position Overview The Director of Marine Operations for LNG Offshore Projects will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of all marine activities associated with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) offshore projects. This role requires extensive experience in marine operations, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of LNG industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. The Director will ensure that all marine operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project goals and international maritime laws.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage all marine operations for LNG offshore projects, including vessel management, logistics, and maritime personnel.Develop and implement strategic plans for marine operations, aligning them with overall project goals and timelines.Project Management: Oversee the planning and execution of offshore LNG transportation, including the coordination of LNG carriers, offshore terminals, and transfer operations.Manage the interface between marine operations and other project teams, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.Safety and Compliance: Ensure all marine operations comply with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.Implement and enforce safety protocols to mitigate risks associated with offshore LNG operations, including emergency response planning.Operational Efficiency: Optimize marine logistics, including the selection and management of vessels, routes, and schedules to ensure cost-effective and timely operations.Monitor and evaluate marine operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marine professionals, including captains, engineers, and logistics coordinators.Foster a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement within the marine operations team.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including project managers, regulatory authorities, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.Represent the organization in meetings with external partners, regulatory bodies, and industry groups related to marine operations.Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the marine operations budget, ensuring cost control and efficient allocation of resources.Oversee procurement and maintenance of marine assets, including vessels and equipment.Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on the status of marine operations, including key performance indicators, safety metrics, and financial performance.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to marine operations, including logs, permits, and compliance records.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., STCW, DP, LNG-specific training) is preferred.Must be bilingual in English and SpanishMinimum of 8 years of experience in marine operations, with at least 2 years in a senior management role within the LNG or oil and gas industry.Extensive knowledge of LNG shipping, offshore platforms, and maritime regulations.Proven track record of managing complex offshore marine operations, including experience with floating LNG terminals (FLNG), FPSOs, or FSRUs.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple priorities.Working Conditions This role requires a combination of office-based work and on-site supervision of offshore operations.Regular travel to offshore project sites and vessels may be required.Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and potentially challenging offshore environments.Compensation Competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience.Potential for performance-based bonuses and career advancement opportunities.
