**The Role**:
The objective of the Director of Strategic Sourcing role is to support the NFE development projects and operational assets for sourcing and procurement needs. Expectations for this role are to lead by example within the Procurement organization and seek out development opportunities to create strategic relationships for NFEs core material/service needs. The Director will be expected to assist in mentoring the Sourcing Specialists and to build the group's acumen. The position will be responsible for facilitating and analyzing RFx events (Request for Quotation, Request for Proposal, Request for Information), as well as coordinating/managing awarded work to NFE's current supply base. To be effective in this role the Sourcing Specialist must be experienced in market analysis, data gathering, reporting, and have worked in industrial settings. This role will support different geographic regions (i.e., Puerto Rico, Mexico, etc.) and is best fit for individuals seeking to work in a growing environment with fast paced goals and a competitive spirit to ensure business continuity is met.
**What You Will Do**:
- Manage/Lead sourcing events, (i.e., RFPs and RFQs) and participate in cross-functional teams to support projects for Development and Operations.
- Implement cost drivers based on total cost of ownership principles for sourced materials and services.
- Conceptualize/implement plans to leverage the current NFE supply base using a TCO approach.
- Collaborate and support internal stakeholders supporting their project and operational needs.
- Evaluate and develop new supply sources in differing countries/regions (i.e., Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, etc.).
- Gather data for market analysis, category analysis, supplier risk analysis and supplier business reviews.
- Communicate industry trends and prioritize strategic sourcing opportunities.
- Structure data sets to develop KPIs that drive business improvement effort
- Lead negotiations for commercial terms/issues which focus on value creation/attainment.
- Leverage information to substantiate fact-based negotiations, strategy development, and execution.
- Prepare for, and manage, risks to the supply chain and logistics team.
- Work with critical suppliers to ensure business continuity strategies to prevent supply interruptions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement plans, policies, and procedures.
- Aggregate/commercialize savings initiatives and represent the Strategic Sourcing group when presenting to the Chief Procurement Officer.
**What You Bring**:
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Spanish), with ability to participate in multi-functional work-projects and cross-functional teams in a multicultural organization.
- Effective leadership communication and ability to communicate to top levels of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in logistics, supply chain, or a business-related field.
- At least seven (7) years' experience in supply chain logistics, preferably in global organizations.
- Expertise within MRO/PVF, Industrial Gases & Chemicals, and/or Rotating Equipment categories is strongly preferred,
- MBA and/or Masters in business related fields preferred.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage priorities to drive completion dates.
- Accountability to ensure sourcing initiatives deliver desirable outcomes.
- Take a proactive, fact-based, and data driven approach to support key Leadership decisions.
- Adept at conflict resolution and negotiations.
- Ability to rapidly assimilate information and find/solve problems.
- Ability to interact effectively at different levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel abroad (specifically Puerto Rico, Mexico, Nicaragua, etc.) ~ projected at 25%.
