.The Director of Quality Assurance will create and maintain a Quality Culture across the entire organization and establish and maintain a quality system to ensure Watkins' facilities, equipment, personnel, methods, processes, and procedures result in products that meet design specifications and achieve high customer satisfaction. This position will develop and lead the business strategic quality plan in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and other regional & business unit senior leaders. This role provides strategic decision-making, leadership, planning, and prioritization to meet business and quality/compliance objectives.She or He is responsible for leading all division QA functions (QMS, staffing, employee/organizational development, Problem solving methodologies, PFMEA, Error proofing, PPAP, APQP, Supplier Quality, lab and test, etc.) working with cross-departmental leadership and plant leadership teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule and ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssures quality products and processes by establishing and maintaining the Watkins Wellness Quality Management System.Communicates with personnel to establish company objectives, standard operating procedures, and product and process quality specifications.Introduce and institute the deployment of industry best practices and tools such as DFMEA, DFM, and PFMEA as applicable.Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and customer requirements, working collaboratively with the management teams, production operators, technicians, and engineers from product development through the entire lifecycle of the product.Manages supplier evaluation activities, including generating performance data and conducting supplier audits. Responsibilities also include resolving all supplier quality issues through corrective action requests and direct contact with suppliers.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBA or BS in an appropriate discipline; Advanced degree will begiven preference, however, extensive industry experience acceptable in lieu of advanced degree.Minimum of ten years' experience in positions of substantial management responsibility in Quality Assurance within Heavy Industrial Manufacturing Industry in Mexico/US.Supplier management Problem solving methodologies.Ability to think strategically and translate into action.Lean Manufacturing (TPS, Hoshin, etc.).ERP Oracle experience is preferable.Operation or production management is a plus.ISO-9001/2008 and/or TS16949.COMPETENCIESMust possess strong Core and Leadership competencies as they pertain to Watkins's performance criteria. Must have a minimum of 7 years of supervisory/management experience with direct reports. Highly effective leadership, teamwork, and communication/presentation skills are essential.
