The Role: As the Director, Research Operations Mexico, you will lead J.D. Power's syndicated automotive benchmarking research for the Mexico and Canadian markets. You and your team will ensure that these benchmarking studies are scientifically sound and adhere to J.D. Power's research methodologies and best practices. Your team will work with the J.D. Power business units (Mexico, Canada and input from the US) to determine the key drivers of customer satisfaction as well as other insights for our clients. You will also support custom proprietary and tracking research for key automotive clients in Mexico. For these studies, your team of approximately ten market researchers is responsible for the design, sample sourcing, data collection vendor management, data processing and analysis, and project management. The Impact: Your role is critical to the success of J.D. Power Mexico. You are expected to promote and defend J.D. Power's methodology and ensure that the research is independent and of high integrity. You also oversee the research operations of the Mexico and Canadian markets and are responsible for meeting the timing, data accuracy and cost expectations for the publication of several syndicated studies. The outcome of your work will be used by clients to help them understand what is important to consumers, how their brand performs relative to their competition, what their brand needs to do to improve and the financial benefit of making these improvements. Responsibilities: Manages team of 10 market researchers in Mexico Responsible for managing (from planning to delivery) syndicated automotive programs in Mexico and Canada Responsible for the study design (survey and sample plan) for syndicated automotive studies in Mexico and Canada (with support from US Corporate Research) Responsible for sample vendor acquisition, survey programming, data processing and creation of client dashboards/web-based reporting and standard presentations Responsible for the execution of tracking or custom proprietary business including vendor management and client servicing Support Practice (business units) in driving revenue—business proposals, sales efforts, obtaining new syndicated clients, winning tracking or custom proprietary business Assess client needs and lead to Practice efforts to maintain and close new business Sets strategy for research operations in Mexico and Canada (publication schedules, resource allocations and needs, budgeting, etc.) Conduct regular area meetings and ensure appropriate company information is cascaded down to team Trains, mentors, develops talent in Mexico research team Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Market Research, Statistics, Econometrics, Psychology or related social science fields Management experience (10 years) 15 years in a market research operations role or related experience Conversational and written English skills Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team oriented, global, and multi-cultural environment Good organizational and problem-solving skills Experience in the Automotive market beneficial but not required The Career Opportunity: You will have the opportunity to work with industry experts to learn how different industries are structured and how they leverage consumer information to guide product development and service improvements efforts.
