We are seeking a talented and experienced Dispute Resolution Lawyer based in Mexico to join our dynamic legal team at a leading ride-hailing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling and managing disputes across various jurisdictions in the Americas, with a separate focus on other special projects - competition law, employment law, ESG, and deals. Responsibilities
Dispute Management: Handle a wide range of disputes, including but not limited to contractual disputes, consumer complaints, regulatory challenges, and litigation across different jurisdictions.
Competition Law: Provide expert advice and representation on competition law matters, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
Special Projects: Assist with special projects, including ESG initiatives, employment law issues, and corporate deals, providing legal guidance and support as needed.
Legal Strategy: Develop and implement effective legal strategies to minimize risk and ensure favorable outcomes in disputes.
Cross-Border Coordination: Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel and internal stakeholders across various countries to ensure cohesive and effective dispute resolution.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations in all operating regions, advising the company on necessary compliance measures.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and settlement agreements. Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to senior management.
Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive advice to mitigate them.
Qualifications
Full law degree from an accredited institution. US-based education and/or US bar admittance would be a great plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in dispute resolution, preferably with a background in competition law and cross-border legal issues. Experience in the ride-hailing or tech industry is a plus.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English is required. Additional languages are a plus.
Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel sometimes as needed to manage issues in various countries and see the world.
Licensure: Must be licensed to practice law in Mexico. Additional bar admissions in other relevant jurisdictions are advantageous.
