.**Job Description**:Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibilityOVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:He/She leads, manages and organizes all aspects of Rooms Division to the highest professional standards and in accordance to the standard operating procedures. He is also fully responsible for the compliance to instructions ruling the hotel industry connected to the Rooms Division or any of its sub departments. He is directly accountable for the operation of Laundry, Front Office, PBX, Concierge, Butlers, Reservation, Transportation, Housekeeping, Romance, SPA, Gift Shop and Guest Experience Departments.OBJECTIVES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCESPRIMARY DUTIES:- Identifies key areas, issues and concerns and acts on them immediately.- Formulates clear statements of objectives for his department and ensures their timely implementation.- Develops realistic action plans aimed to introduce/ and/or improve services, procedures and working methods in accordance to the short, medium and long-term goals set by the Planning Team- Monitors systematically the performance of the department and intervenes immediately if deviations occur.- Maintains an excellent reputation in the eyes of the public, the owners, the management, our guests and staff.COMPETENCES:- Staff: Recommends terminations, hiring, promotions and transfers within his department, pending approval of the Hotel Manager(s).- Financial competences: as elaborated in the job particulars.- General competences: as elaborated in the job particulars and/or as delegated to him by the Hotel Manager(s).JOB PARTICULARS:- Is vested with the following basic competences:- Staff competences as described above.- The financial competences include room-rate discount approval within the set operational parameters. Waiving of late check-out charges for commercial reasons. Approval of petty cash vouchers in connection to Rooms Division matters. Initiating purchase orders for recurrent and non-recurrent items in accordance to the operational, investment and replacement budgets. Salary adjustments in accordance to the approved salary scales.- General competences include independent planning, implementation and monitoring of departmental short -, medium- and long-term objectives and goals. Drafting of standard operating procedures for his field of activity. Determining working methods.- Is responsible to ensure that training is an on-going process throughout the department and that specific training needs of individuals or groups are met and discussed with the Training Manager.- Is responsible to conduct monthly meeting of the department's supervisors and administrative staff. (Managers of other departments should also be invited and encouraged to attend).- Is responsible for the achievement of the set financial and operational targets.- Ensures proper skills training and knowledge tests to maintain top efficiency in service
