.Career Area:Engineering**Job Description**:Solar Turbines Incorporated, the leading designer and manufacturer of Industrial Gas Turbines in the 1 to 24 MW size range, has exciting opportunities for recent graduates to join our world-class team of turbomachinery professionals as we work together to develop new product capability and service a global fleet of gas turbines in our customer oil, natural gas and power generation installations world-wide.This entry-level position is in our Gas Turbine Products Engineering (GTPE) organization providing engineering expertise and production support for both new and aftermarket legacy products. GTPE is responsible for product design maintenance activities with three primary departments: Core Mechanical Design Engineering for engine durability improvements; Turbine Production Engineering supporting production operations; and Aftermarket Engineering focused on product reliability and remanufactured components. Entry Level engineers will be given challenging assignments intended to improve the producibility, quality and cost of our products and enable the engineer to acquire core gas turbine product knowledge. Diverse work assignments with cross-functional partners in engineering, manufacturing and supply-chain will grow the Entry Level engineer's professional network, cultivate an enterprise perspective, and maximize engagement within an organization of technical specialists. This position is tailored to build foundational design skills and manufacturing knowledge for either new production or remanufactured engine components in preparation of a challenging and rewarding engineering career at Solar Turbines.The TPE Product Engineering primary roles are:- Be the authoritative body for dispositioning discrepant material.- Be responsible for dimensional integrity when reviewing and processing PPAP documentation.- Drive process rigor for sustained long term manufacturing and quality improvements.To promote skills development, an informal learning program consisting of mini-rotation assignments in other functional work areas will be coordinated throughout the first year, based on individual needs. Job role assignments may include:- New Manufacturing Operations- Overhaul Manufacturing Operations- Material Review Board Engineering (non-conformances)- Change Integration and Data Management (Design Changes)- Engineering Design Layout (Models & Drawings)- Supplier Technical EngineeringMinimum Qualifications:- Must have obtained or will obtain a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or other related engineering discipline.- Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or higher.- Less than one year of relevant industry experience.- Technical knowledge of engineering fundamentals.Preferred Qualifications:- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities.- Effective problem-solving skills and technical judgment.- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
