**RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL**:
- The EHS Jr. Engineer supervises and trains the staff, making sure that people are safe from injury. You must know the equipment, its operations, as well as the security issues and measures to guarantee the protection of the people who work with them. You should also be familiar with the different methods used in the development of safety training curricula and the training of people to adopt these safety measures. Safety engineers must be well informed about government regulations and company regulations regarding the safe operation of equipment and accidents. _
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES**:
- Provide technical advice to the Unit regarding the creation and implementation of industrial safety and occupational hygiene programs.
- Plan, direct and supervise the activities of the personnel in charge.
- Ensure compliance with the policies and regulations established in the department regarding industrial safety and occupational hygiene.
- Establish jointly with the immediate superior the policies to be followed, in terms of industrial safety and occupational hygiene.
- Coordinate the inspection process in the workplace.
- Investigate work accidents, determine their causes and recommend corrective measures.
- Carry and analyze statistics of work accidents.
- Develop standards and procedures related to the acquisition and provision of personal protective equipment.
- Assign responsibilities to occupational safety and health inspectors and review the reports they perform.
- Participate in meetings with safety and occupational hygiene inspectors.
- Evaluate problems related to occupational health, in committees appointed by the University Council.
- Supervise, control and evaluate the personnel in charge.
- Comply with the rules and procedures regarding integral security, established by the organization.
- Keep the equipment and work site in order, reporting any anomaly.
- Create periodic updates on the activities carried out.
- Perform any other related task assigned to him.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- University Professional in a related area.
- One year of experience Operational, supervisory and strategic nature in the area of industrial safety, occupational hygiene and environmental protection.
