Job Summary
The EHS Engineer will be based in Juarez Sur. This position will be focused on: Maintains: Tours plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations, coordination of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs in site and off the site when required and develop and administer budgets, schedules, and performance requirements in regards pf Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability programs.
What a typical day looks like:
- Coordination of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs in site and off the site when required.
- Oversee proper maintenance of buildings, furniture and fixtures in accordance to federal, state and local regulations.
- Coordination all incident investigation, identify root causes and ensure action plan for reduce risks.
- Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance and act as advisor to unit or sub-units and get involved as required to meet schedules or resolve problems.
- Adhering to the guidelines and policies in an avant-garde and proactive way resolution of problems and analysis of situations of potential risk for the operation, guaranteeing compliance with requirements, legal, corporate and voluntary that are considered for the business of Flex.
- Strong knowledge of environmental safety policies, controls and regulations.
- Strong knowledge in the handling of chemicals, audits and their control.
- Strong knowledge in risk assessment.
- EHS internal training (Industrial Safety, Civil Protection, Environment, health).
- Knowledge in the implementation and certification of ISO 14001-2015.
- Function as emergency coordinator and develop/drive emergency response/business continuity initiatives
- Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.
- Examines plans and specifications for sustainability events, community events and green projects
- Tours plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Determines requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds and installs or directs installation of safety devices on machinery.
- Strong knowledge of environmental safety policies, controls and regulations.
- Follow-up to the environmental legal compliance matrix
- Knowledge to follow the ISO 14: 001 standard in its new version.
- Administration, evaluation of aspects and environmental impacts and sustainability
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Experience in EH&S or related position.
- Intermediate English able to establish communication at different levels.
- Experience in Sustainability, EH&S and knowledge of related regulations, codes, and guidelines.
- Previous experience in EH&S, renewable energy, water conservation and sustainability activities within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety guidelines, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
