- Position scope/summary
- To establish, maintain and develop to an environmental management system (including health and safety.)
- To assure the fulfillment to local, federal and international laws and regulations applicable in Environmental, Health and Safety matters.
- To Educate, train and motivate the company employees to lead their activities with responsibility towards the Environment Protection and the work safety.
- To Develop, design and operate the facilities and to lead activities taking in consideration the efficient use of the energy and materials, the sustainable use of the renewable resources, the minimization of adverse environmental and safety impacts and the generation safe and responsible waste disposal.
- To establish, and maintain a Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Committee.

- Essential duties and responsibilities
- To Evaluate the environmental and safety impacts before initiating new activities or Projects.
- Conduct or support the investigation of the environmental and safety impacts of raw materials, products, processes, emissions and waste associated with the company and of the methods to minimize the adverse impacts.
- To Promote the adoption of the Environmental and Safety responsibility principles and with the contractors and suppliers, motivating them and when appropriate, require improvements in their practices to make them consistent with the company.
- To develop and maintain wherever significant risks exist, Emergency plans in coordination with the authorities, emergency services, and the local community, recognizing the impacts outside of the limit, of the property.
- To contribute to the transfer of healthy environmental technology.
- To Contribute to the development of public policies and organizational programs and educational initiatives, that increase the consciousness on Environmental protection and Safety.
- Ensure that all local, state and federal EHS regulations, along with company mandated policies pertaining to the operations of the facility have been identified and that prescribed elements are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Ensure prescribed training is presented and documented, along with evidence of participant competency where warranted or appropriate.
- Ensure that facility program assessments are performed as scheduled/required and consequent corrective actions are assigned and completed by or before due date(s).
- Lead implementation of new EHS initiatives, as directed by Corporate EHS or as warranted and/or appropriate on a site-specific basis.
- Coordinate and monitor contractor and consultant activities related to all EHS issues or aspects.
- Attend monthly EHS Team conference calls and communicate key discussion points to site management team.
- Track facility EHS performance per designated metrics and develop periodic status reports.
- Facilitate and/or guide site EHS committee activities, including periodic meetings, assessments and awareness campaign development/presentation.
- Qualifications
- Minimum 80% knowledge of English.
- Bachelor's degree
- Familiar with computer programs such as: Word, Excel
- Minimum of 3 years in similar position
- Technical background preferred with knowledge of site operations required.
- Ability to effectively communicate and/or interact with employees, management team members and regulatory agency representatives, e.g., through training/awareness sessions, written program status reports, one-on-one coaching and during regulatory inspections or inquiries.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives, maintain detailed and orderly documentation, evaluate program data, and identify trends and corresponding control strategies.
- Training and Education. Technical degree preferred
- Attendance of company-provided training sessions and designated local technical seminars pertinent to required skill set is expected.
