We are growing and expanding our Manufacturing Site in Mexico! In the job as EHS Specialist/Engineer, you will have the opportunity to actively support the organization by meeting ensuring that our manufacturing site runs as needed to have the growth expected of the products we make in Mexico, excel in your own daily tasks and responsibilities, and experience a very varied working day in a dynamic.
Objective:
The EHS Specialist / Engineer activities will cover but not limited to ensure compliance with federal, state, municipal and corporate regarding to EHS management systems within the operations, support the EHS Lead with environmental and safety activities and campaigns as well as risk assessments and programs implementing.
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
- To evaluate the environmental and safety impacts before initiating new activities or Projects.
- Responsible for managing the hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste warehouse as
well as keeping the logs, manifests and consolidated as applicable updated and orderly.- Responsible to maintain the EHS legal records and permits available and for any official
visit.- Supervise that all personnel follow the safety EPP and actions within the required
standards.- Supervise the Industrial Safety and Environmental activities of the plant.
- To develop and maintain wherever significant risks exist, Emergency plans in coordination
with the authorities, emergency services, and the local community, recognizing the
- impacts outside of the limit, of the property.- Participate in employee training programs on safety and environmental topics.
- Support the EHS Lead to ensure that all local, state, and federal EHS regulations, along
with company mandated policies pertaining to the operations of the facility have been
- identified and that prescribed elements are effectively implemented and maintained.- To Promote the adoption of the Environmental and Safety responsibility principles and
with the contractors and suppliers, motivating them and when appropriate, require
- improvements in their practices to make them consistent with the company.- Carry out studies, analysis, and evaluations to identify potential risks, as well as to
mitigate and control hazards affecting personnel and the environment.- Follow up on internal and external audits when required.
- Supervise the services providers e.g., cleaning, guards, etc. are trained in the needed
documentation for entering and working in the facility, their correctly implementation and
- follow up. Maintain services providers logs.- Lead implementation of new EHS initiatives, as directed by Corporate EHS or as
warranted and/or appropriate on a site-specific basis.- Manage and carry out the purchase orders related to EHS needs.
- Stop any unsafe operation, equipment or machinery that poses a safety risk.
