Job qualifications and experience requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or HSE related fieldsFully bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written)5 years leading the EHSS team, preferably in heavy industrial manufacturingIn-depth knowledge of HSE standards and best practices, quality ISO standards, concepts, processes, and proceduresGood knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations (STPS, OSHA, SEMARNAT, NFPA, ISO 14001)Experience conducting inspections and audits is desiredDevelopment/implementation of processes and procedures, including comprehensive HSE PlansExpertise in hazard job site assessment/analysis/solution, risk assessments, incident investigation, and root cause analysisCompetencies and skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence others and gain acceptance of ideasSense of urgency and decisivenessLeadershipTeamwork. Ability to build credibility and trusting relationshipsSome of the activities you will be doing include: Continuously maintain and improve high standards of Safety, Environmental & SecurityLead the implementation of local Safety and Environmental (HSE) legal requirements, corporate and local HSE strategyLead and instruct the safety, environmental, and security team to achieve internal targetsResponsible for development, supervision, and compliance enforcement of effective HSE management systemsOversee and coordinate all training mandated by local regulatory agencies and provide continuous training for all production and administrative personnel and contractors of HSE procedures, policies, and behaviorsSupport all areas in identifying the necessary operational control measures for correct risk managementProvide support to timely and adequate reporting, investigation, and follow-up of (HSE) incidentsGenerate and implement the Security strategy through the continuous analysis of the vulnerability of the sitesConduct safety audits and evacuation/emergency drillsOversee, investigate, and maintain records of EHS incidentsOversee and maintain achievable targets for lagging and leading indicatorsAvailable for on-callPhysical requirements: Must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. individuallyAbility to frequently work from heights of at least 250 feetExposure to consistent noiseExposure to wet and/or humid conditions, varying temperatures, vibrations, dust, and asphaltAbility to frequently sit, stand, talk, and listen for long periods of timeFrequently use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate objects, tools, and controlsFrequently reach with hands and armsAbility to walk long distances, sometimes over uneven terrainAbility to climb several flights of stairs
