The Electronic Components Engineer is expected to provide technical leadership and potentially train new staff members.
Good communication is expected for technical status updates, component reviews, and when working closely with other internal and external teams in multiple geographic locations and organizations.
Keeping up with industry trends and new technology breakthroughs is essential and requires continuous learning through self/internet study.
The primary focus of the position will be Wire Harness Components and Auxiliary Motors.
Support of these product lines will generally include the development of product requirements, electronic component selection, schematic/layout development, and component verification and validation.
Some or all of these activities may be performed in partnership with a supplier including the manufacturing plan and process development.
This position performs analysis work, identifies design problems, and works to resolve them.
**Job Duties**
- Draft and execute development plans in concert with the timing needs of product groups
- Within the scope of NPI workflow ensure that all of CAT ICS' L2/L1 NPI and APQP process elements are completed
- Act as development team lead, interacting with system teams, plant locations, suppliers and purchasing to ensure development commitments are met
- Plan and coordinate product testing in concert with system needs.
- Coordinate supplier evaluations, production readiness reviews and facilitate other required supplier development activities
- Advanced troubleshooting and analysis skills are needed to resolve complex development and field issues and to improve overall performance and cost.
**Basic Qualifications**
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum (Electrical, or Mechanical) and commensurate product development and project leadership experience.
Fluent English communication
Incumbents must have demonstrated excellent analytical skills and the ability to perform complex assignments.
Requires strong technical leadership skills.
Must have strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills and the ability to communicate technical information effectively
