Reporting to the Value & Component Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer II is responsible for consistently generating product cost savings, supporting R&D and the Integrated Supply Chain with semiconductor, passive, and electro-mechanical component related issues.JOB DUTIES:Researching technology that can be used in a more cost effective manner in existing products without affecting form, fit, or function.Evaluate & redesign existing hardware and/or firmware to achieve lower product cost.Identify new and alternative suppliers of electronic components used in present and future products manufactured in mass production.Create component specifications and testing procedures.Perform required qualification and testing in laboratories on component level and product level.Qualify parts with respect to international agency regulations, coordinate required certification.Interface with the Sourcing department to identify and verify suggested alternative components, cooperate on cost reduction project implementation.Interface with Manufacturing Engineering on project implementation.Participate in and contribute to product design reviews.Work under limited supervision.Work collaboratively with team members.YOU MUST HAVE:3+ years of experience in Component Engineering, Hardware design, or Test Engineering.Good knowledge of electronic component parameters and characteristics.Circuit design analysis & troubleshooting experience.Experience with conditional qualification testing, development, and implementation.Good knowledge of electronics manufacturing methods.Working knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems.English proficiency.WE VALUE:Analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.Knowledge of UL/CSA/CE standards, statistical methods, tools, and MS Office.Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing.Project management experience is a plus.Detail & process oriented.#J-18808-Ljbffr
