Eaton's EPG LAC PD Power Distribution division is currently seeking a Electrical Product Engineering Manager.
**What you'll do**:
- Manage engineering resources and design developments for engineering orders and standard products according to cost, quality and delivery requirements in accordance with the Eaton Quality System in addition to development of new products to meet market requirements and maintain competitiveness in Mexico the region.- Directly supervise the activities of the engineering team to balance the workload through the use of electrical and mechanical project radars, as well as the various projects for standardization, implementation and improvement of engineering systems for the organization.
- Interface with sales, marketing and customers to establish requirements and specifications of the projects and product lines managed by the plant.
- Establish design control processes and procedures for standard and special products, in coordination with support areas such as Manufacturing, Projects, Sales, Marketing and Quality.
- Participate in the establishment of strategic product development needs for the product line.
- Take responsibility for developing, maintaining and administering departmental budget and programs for new projects and/or products.
- Lead the new product development program through the use of the Prolaunch program in accordance with the requirements of the OPA evaluation.
- Support the maintenance of product lines activities as necessary by improving the quality costs and manufacturing capacity of existing products.
- Serve as a technical resource by keeping up with evolving technologies, changes in industry standards, customer problems and trends that could affect the product line.
- Take responsibility for the evaluation of training needs, performance reviews in relation to the objectives, the direction of professional development activities and salary management behaviors for engineering personnel.
- Work with all external and/or internal and appropriate customers in support of the development of engineering specifications for product development needs.
- Analyze the cost deviations of the plant and its causes, propose solutions and take corrective actions.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan of the Business Unit.
- Meet any other activity assigned by your supervisor or special requirements of the company.
- Active participation in continuous improvement programs and committees (ideas program, kaizen events, 5'S, Tier meeting and Gemba Walk).
- Comply the Eaton Business System (EBS), in foundations, Planning, Growth, Functional Excellence, Assessment and Learning, mainly in the Eaton Business Excellence (EBE); ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 and its tools (such as: Eaton Quality System (EQS), Eaton Lean System and Six Sigma-ELS, HR Standard Work and Employee Survey.
- Know and comply the Policies: Global Ethics, Values and Philosophy, Management Environmental Safety and Security and Health (MESH).

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution required.
- Master degree in Business Administration Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution (preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years in electrical/mechanical engineering product development position experience in electrical industry or related product and manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years Engineering Management experience in a large manufacturing facility (300+ employees) required.
**Skills**:
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English-Spanish (bilingual) required.
- Process for New Product Launch preferable ProLaunch NPD and/or STP.
- Software Autodesk Inventor and Autocad Electrical.
