Role Definition
Design, development and testing of electrical and/or electronic components for use within machines and engine systems.
Responsibilities
• Overseeing compliance with development processes and regulations for electrical and electronic systems and components.
• Investigating and troubleshooting all technical issues related to electrical and electronic systems and components.
• Managing and negotiating with electrical and electronic equipment vendors for the development of systems and components.
• Mentoring craftsmen, technicians and engineers in the development of electrical and electronic systems and components.
• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Provides input for Gantt or PERT charts or their equivalent to track project progress and status. Under guidance, plans and estimates simple projects. Assists in detailed project plans including cost, schedule, and resource requirements. Obtains information from stakeholders during the planning stage of a project. Produces standard project status reports.
Electronics Engineering - HTH: Knowledge of electronics engineering; ability to design, test and manufacture electronic circuits, components and devices.
Researches considerations and tools used for converting schematics tolayouts. Works with engineering electronic components or devices. Constructs circuit schematics; explains the interconnections between all electrical components. Addresses common issues and considerations in manufacturing electronic products. Implements processes and activities associated with the design and testing of electronic circuits.
Basic Qualifications: 1 to 3 years of experience working in the capacity of an electrical or mechanical design engineer to help us develop low voltage DC electrical components for use on Caterpillar engines and machines.
Work experience in similar fields: factory quality, process, research, validation or similar.
Successful candidates for this role have experience in design, validation, project management, electronics, and other technical areas.
