One or more years working in a manufacturing environment (internship and co-op experience will be considered)
- Understanding and working knowledge of relevant external safety standards such as OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, Mexican Law etc as well as FAS08 and VOSS /PTO ME internal safety standards
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office
- Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work as a team
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills
- Ability to guide and influence all levels
- Demonstrated conflict leadership skills
- Experience working in a Union Environment
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organization skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Mexican law, Manufacturing, HR,)
- Experience in similar position / Minimum 1 years
- Safety and Hygene certification Preferred
- Advance English Level Knowledge
**Safety system audit**
- Coordinate team preparation for external SOS (Safety Operative system)/SHARP (Safety and Health Assessment Review Process) of safety system audits.
- Conduct internal safety system audits in each production area and work with management to address the gaps.
**Implementation & improvement of safety systems.
**
- Liaise with SOS Coach to address the results of the SOS gap analysis
- Develop Operating Procedures, Operating Forms and policies
**Safety Training**
- Work with the Training Coordinator on safety training planning, materials and delivery
**Safety Advisor (Subject Matter Expert)**
- Provide specialist technical advice and perform Safety Risk Assessments (SRA)
- Supervise and mentor the full time SRA personnel
- Provide safety training to production personnel
- Achieve effective working relationships with OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) representatives, production supervisors/managers and manufacturing engineers
- Assist the Areas in incident investigations for high potential incidents,
- Advise and mediate OHS based disagreements and assist in resolving OHS issues,
- Prioritize competing demands
**Corporate Reporting**
- Enter monthly injury/illness data into PLAID on the Ford intranet
- Enter incident reports in GPIRS (Ford intranet) that meet the criteria
- Respond to Ford Global safety alerts and enter status in GPIRS (Global Preliminary Incident Reporting System)/ GERT (Global Event Reporting Tool).
