About the Role
As a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer supporting our Global Automation initiative from our Queretaro, Mexico manufacturing location, you will design and develop process automation solutions and custom manufacturing equipment for not only our newest and most innovative products, but you will also upgrade the manufacturing capabilities for our legacy flagship products. You will be working in our Global Automation Team, where you will have the opportunity to unleash your creativity and technical prowess to create automation solutions and capabilities that will deliver world-class products and performance to our customers and to our business.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead small to medium sized projects to develop custom automation and tooling solutions, ranging from stand-alone operations to fully automated manufacturing systems.
- Work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams as a manufacturing process automation Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Create manufacturing engineering projects plans.
- Design and implement solutions to improve the performance of existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Prepare equipment manuals (including TSG), manufacturing process plans, and operator work instructions.
- Capture manufacturing process and equipment knowledge that can be reused and shared across projects, teams, and manufacturing locations.
- Equipment acquisition, either make or buy, throughout different project phases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with preferred +3 years of related engineering experience.
Desired Qualifications and Attributes
- Background in machinery and manufacturing systems (HMI's, controllers, & vision systems).
- Project management skills (PMO)
- Modeling software experience (3D and 2D).
- Working knowledge of measurement systems, including basic GD&T understanding and tolerance stack-up calculations.
- Working knowledge of quality tools and statistical techniques used in manufacturing (i.e. FMEA's, DRBFM's, process flow maps, control charts and process capability).
- Experience with the use of lean manufacturing tools and principles.
- Flexibility to work on multiple projects of varying size, scope, and complexity.
- LabVIEW, Ignition and C# programming experience is a plus.
