We are hiring Molding Engineer!
For our Manufacturing facility at Apodaca
We're looking for an experienced Molding Engineer to join our team! This position will have a lead role in establishing molding conditions, integrating new projects into production and driving continuous improvement. Providing technical leadership, this position interacts with other departments to resolve problems that interfere with productivity and has a good understanding of manufacturing operations and processes.
**Profile**:
- Bachelor's Degree (Desired Master´s) in Engineering, Technical, Mechanical Engineering, Science, Technology, Industrial Engineering, Medical, Manufacturing Engineering
- Position requires 5+ years in the mold making and molding industry.
- Experience in developing plastic processing parameters.
- Hands-on experience driving innovation process from end-to-end
- Knowledge: Tooling, Welding, CNC programming & mechanical design
- Desired knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Fluent English
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, improve yield and throughput, drive cost reduction activities and improve on part quality, independently on new process development as well as troubleshooting current production issues.
- Responsible of factors such as cycles, process capability and tooling history.
- Translate design concepts into physical products.
- Training and development of tool room technicians on preventing molding maintenance, repairs and preparations.
- Coordinate the updating and revising of mechanical drawings related to tooling.
- Design and tool parts and components according to blueprints and requirements.
- Test tooled pieces to ensure tolerances, color, and dimensions.
- Manage tooling budgets and report budget performance.
- Optimize tooling performance by utilizing applicable surface coatings and materials to improve die life and reduce/eliminate soldering
- Lead the development of new plastic injection tooling projects to meet a wide range of product performance and cosmetic requirements.
- Participate in the development of PFMEA's and assignment of special product characteristics
- Chair and conduct mold tooling design review with the Engineering, Operation and Quality engineering
- Maintain a proper system and documentation in line with the tooling acceptance requirement for release to operation
- Debug significant complex problems in new systems & tooling
- Provide molding expertise in plastic components, design for manufacturability /mold-ability, design for improved / outstanding tooling and scientific molding principles.
- Failure analysis based on data obtained by the Data Collector, and push for continuous improvement and problem solving.
