ResponsibilitiesResponsible for coordination of maintenance and repair of high-volume injection mold toolingCoordinate and document the internal and external activities of the mold improvement planWork and communicate with the business unit Tooling Engineers and Planners to define and complete the tasks to have molds repairedControl the logistics to send molds out to repair and bring them back on timeWork with Planners, Process and Quality Engineers to re-qualify molds after major mold repairsResponsible for adhering external and internal molds to the corporate mold maintenance procedureWork with internal and external molders to maintain mold preventive maintenance recordsIdentify, justify, and implement cost reduction projects to reduce the cost of maintaining and repairing injection moldsCoordinate the inventory and purchase of injection mold spare partsCollaborate with Tooling Engineers, Process Engineers, and Quality Engineers to improve the performance and consistency of injection molds and molded componentsDevelop the mold capacity analysis for all the El Lago molding operation toolsQualificationsMinimum Qualifications: BS Degree in an Engineering disciplineDemonstrated experience in achieving results in areas of responsibility described aboveBilingual – Spanish and English with excellent verbal and written communication skills5+ years as Tooling Engineer with hands-on experience involving specification, procurement, qualification, maintenance and repair of molds for injection molded componentsExcellent theoretical and applied knowledge of mechanical engineering conceptsAbility to perform investment justificationsWorking knowledge of plastic processing, statistical process control and process capabilityTravel up to 30% of work scheduleWell organized, enthusiastic, high energy, strong work ethicAbility to provide excellent customer service and obtain results working with othersProficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working in a mold making company as a mold maker or mold designerProficient in the use of CAD (SolidWorks) and mold flow analysisExperience in procuring tooling in the Far East.
