**LOCATION**:Acuna / Coahuila (MX-COA), Mexico | **BRAND**: Bendix | **REQUISITION ID**:3207 | ** JOB GRADE**: 16**JOB DESCRIPTION**:**Position Summary**: Performs hands-on engineering lab testing assignments associated with the following: product support (vendor's PPAP, deviations, cost reduction, Initial Production Audits, warranties and field returns).Independently evaluates problems or opportunities, identifies root cause, proposes solutions and applies standard engineering analysis tools to evaluate and select best solution.
Normally would be considered the local expert for one or more product(s) or test protocol(s).The individual must have good verbal and written communication skills and willing to work in a multi-disciplined team environment.
**Essential Functions**:- Test Engineers needed to work closely with product engineers to plan and perform engineering test (e.G.
DVP&R's) and development assignments associated with ongoing product support, cost reduction and manufacturing of air brake products to achieve the technical, individual and business objectives.- Set-up, instrument and perform tests on pneumatic products fabricating/automating tests/ test fixtures as required.- Acquire and document test data from numeric and non-numeric sources (e.G.
data acquisition system, oscilloscope traces, chart recorders, and other types of recording media.- Write and publish test reports with ability to document results and make conclusions /recommendations.- Maintain test records and equipment according to ISO procedures.- Assist with or lead Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEA's and PFMEA's).- Proficient in basic measurement tools including Micrometer, Torque Wrench, Caliper, etc.
Provide support/recommendations to quality opportunities.- Responsible for equipment calibration / methodology.- Support product safety activities and procedures and follow up on action items with team members.
**Management & Supervisory Responsibilities**:- Job **is** **NOT directly** responsible for managing other employees.
Co-ops or students may report to this position.
**Knowledge**:- Hands on and self-starter.- Ability to work in a team (Product Engineers, manufacturing/quality teams).- Customer focused (internal/external).- PLC / automation knowledge preferred.- Strong Lab view and other Data Acquisition systems strongly preferred.- Root cause analysis tools (experience with problem solving analysis).- Desired experience in statistical analysis (E.G.
DOE, CPk)- Familiarity with Six Sigma processes.- Demonstrated technical writing and documenting skills.
**Experience**:- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering (automotive preferred)**Skills**:- Must have good Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
