Job Description:
- Summary:
Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of one or more engineering functions. This may include NPI, Project Management, Project Portfolio Management, Process Development, developing Subject Matter Expertise in core processes, and equipment engineering. Establishes and executes strategic plans and objectives. Participates in development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for programs and individuals. Decisions have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, business unit or company objectives. Directs functional area through department Managers and/or Professional track employees.
**Responsibilities**:
Strategic Management:
Develop and implement innovation strategies aligned with business and production objectives.-
- Collaborate with other leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.Team Leadership:
Supervise and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.-
- Provide technical guidance and lead the professional development of the team.-
- Develop and implement core engineering competencies and standards.-
- Collaborate and build constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.-
- Effectively communicate with Senior Leadership on strategic initiatives and project updates.-
- Build an environment of engagement.Technological Development:
Evaluate, select, and implement emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and quality in the manufacturing of orthopedic products where appropriate.-
- Lead in the innovation of process technologies to maintain the technological competitiveness of the company.Process Optimization:
Identify and execute initiatives to optimize production processes, improving product quality, improving equipment reliability and reducing costs.-
- Lead asset life cycle management-
- Implementation of lean principles in process and equipment design-
- Implement engineering standards into core processes.-
- Collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure effective integration of technological solutions.-
- Lead process development activities to support NPI projects and any other projects that enables growth for the business.Project Management:
Oversee the execution of engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and within the established budget.-
- Implement effective project management methodologies and best practices.-
- Develop project financial business cases.Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all activities performed comply with relevant quality, regulatory and safety regulations, and standards.**Requirements**:
- History of utilizing Statistical Techniques, Lean, and Problem-Solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, Shainin, Kepner-Tregoe, etc.
- Minimum of 5 years leading a technical organization
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering and master's degree in engineering preferred
- Effectively communicates in English both in verbal and written form
- Experience in MedTech industry or regulated industry preferred
