.Descripción y detalle de las actividadesThe Engineering Director is Responsible for managing the Company's Engineering functions and activities to ensure the complete satisfaction of the Client, the maximum efficiency of the operation and minimizing production costs under the Highest Safety Standards. - Advises Management on Engineering problems and provides assistance to the Production Manager by using Statistical and Engineering techniques and tools such as: SPC, DOE, FMEA, TQM, TPM JIT, etc. - Formulates, Negotiates and Manages the Department's Objectives and Budgets, as well as the Strategies and Action Plans to achieve those Objectives. - Responsible for the Plant Layout. - Supervises and Coordinates the Activities of Subordinates to facilitate the Implementation and Operation of the Company's Engineering Systems. Responsible for Selecting, Training, Motivating, Developing, and acting as a Facilitator to the Engineering Staff. Also Responsible for Promoting and Maintaining Interdepartmental harmony. - Checks Engineering Designs as to their compliance with the Client's requirements, to Engineering Principles and the Standards of the Organization. Validates and Authorizes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) or the Engineering Department. - Directs Engineering Personnel in the formulation of blueprints, designs, cost estimates and specifications. - Supervises or Conducts Investigations and Special Studies to evaluate the efficiency of the Engineering Programs. - Participates as a Member of the Managerial Team in the Development and the Implementation of new Products. - Interacts with the following Department: -Marketing for Developing new Products. -Quality and production to Improve Reliability and to Reduce Costs of current Products. - Customer Support to Ensure that Clients receive complete and timely answers to their Inquiries. - Supervises Engineering Standards Library.
