Engineering Liaison : Truck And Specialty Vehicle

Seeking a mechanical engineer or customer liaison with excellent experience in the automotive or other transportation industry. You must be capable of analyzing problems, reading prints, and physically doing rework as needed.This position is in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. (Relocation to the area is necessary)This is a contract:To:Direct opportunity with a Tier 1 supplier to the heavy truck and specialty vehicle market.Responsibilities Include:- Working with OEM customers to understand their heavy truck and specialty vehicle seating requirements- Reviewing designs (2D + 3D CAD and/or physical prints) and assisting in customer design reviews- Communicate engineering requirements to the seat production facility (in US, Mexico, and China)- Addressing any concerns the production facility may have in fulfilling the OEMs requirements- Using CAD (2D and 3D) to make design proposals to customer and communicate with the seat production facility- Participate in the initial inspection of physical seats upon arrival at the OEMs manufacturing facility (usually related to new seating programs)- Address any issues with non:Conforming seats:Developing and executing plans related to corrective actions- Provide project status to management and customers- Manage assigned projects effectively (e.G. develop project plans, maintain issues list, follow:Up on assigned tasks, facilitate calls, oversee small teams as needed)**Requirements**:Experience working in a transportation industry (automotive, heavy truck, bus, aerospace, etc) as an engineer or customer liaisonAble to read and understand engineering prints and use CAD (2D and 3D)Able to communicate engineering requirements to production facilitiesMust be able to identify problems and hypothesize on their root causesWilling and able to address root causesWilling and able to develop and execute corrective action plansExcellent oral and written communication (English)**Benefits**:Competitive PayPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysHealth, Dental, Vision InsuranceLife and Disability Insurance
