.The Process Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a team of process engineers who will work closely with design engineers, program managers, marketing and quality engineers to support the development of new product lines. This includes the development of new equipment and processes as well as the creation of cost estimates of labor and capital. The team will also provide ongoing sustaining support to production lines at our global sites; most of this is remote support on a consultant/mentor basis.General Responsibilities- Leverages engineering fundamentals, and organization to make sound decisions on complex technical issues- Provides direction for a team of process engineers and technicians. Establishes clear goals, strategies, and initiatives to drive the necessary changes to ensure achievement of production and financial metrics- Define process engineering resource requirements and capacity expansion projects and actively work to recruit or reassign resources to succeed- Manage multiple global business centers and global operation process engineering groups to identify the best strategy to converge on processes, equipment and product roadmap- Provide technical and organizational consultation for product teams- Develop synergies across multiple product lines- Understanding of market and implications for business as well as understanding of business strategy and business case development- Manage the training of technical information with specifics on projects/schedules and timelines- Responsibilities include understanding customer requirements and expectations, and developing/driving actions and schedules needed to support those program expectations- Interacts with management and customers on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals- Familiarity with manufacturing methods - welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, machining, stamping, molding and forming. Basic knowledge of a core manufacturing processes- Transferring knowledge to make site personnel- Support improvement projects to reduce cycle time, defects and manufacturing cost- Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure processes are capable, have sufficient controls in place, can meet our delivery requirements, and meet our cost targets- Evaluate Sensata's and supplier's technical capabilities including, tooling design, build experience, maintenance program, processes and process controls, cell automation - if required, quality control systems, and materials knowledge- Manage all presonnel evaluations and is responsible for equipment selectionExperience / Qualifications- A university degree required (i.E. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
