**Role Definition**
This position will serve as the Engineering Manager for the Electrical & Electronic Component team in the Cat Electronics Components division. The component team supports the primary Electrical & Electronic divisions located in Mossville IL. The Electrical & Electronic divisions in Mossville owns multiple design controls for over 9000 part-numbers with millions of parts delivered to Caterpillar manufacturing and parts facilities annually. The component product line includes but not limited to are Electronic Control Modules, Displays, Sensors, Operator Controls, Connectors, Lights, Switches, Alarms, Hydraulic actuators, etc.
**Responsibilities**
The manager of the team is responsible for providing leadership in the following areas:
- **People Leadership**: The Engineering Manager is the direct supervisor of 10+ Caterpillar engineers. The manager is expected to ensure the team is staffed for success, provide excellent mentoring and coaching, and foster a culture of teamwork, commitment & collaborative relationships among themselves, process partners, suppliers, and other cross functional groups. Additionally, the manager is responsible for collaborating with peers to develop component development and validation capabilities in Mexico. Manager is also responsible to work a talent pipeline strategy to expand Cat Electronics Component footprint to meet business commitments.
- **Project Leadership**: The component team will be supporting multiple global design control teams in Mossville, IL. The manager will have to work in alignment with the respective engineering managers to provide project leadership/governance as expected. Ensure process rigor by the team members in supporting all projects. Drive transparent communication with peers, stakeholders, and within the team.
- **Supplier Relationship Management**: The Electrical & Electronic team is highly engaged with various component suppliers globally in the development and manufacturing of the Electrical & Electronics product line. In partnership with procurement teams, the manager will work with regional suppliers to develop relationship and support with supply of quality components.
**Degree Requirement**
Accredited Engineering degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a closely related technical degree.

**Basic Qualifications**
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English & Spanish
- Minimum 10 years of engineering or industry experience in the field of electrical or electronic component development, component quality and supplier management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading electronic/electrical systems or component development team. Experience could include performing as a technical lead/specialist for any of the electrical or electronic product lines.
- Experience working with global cross functional teams.
- Experience in supplier management or product development collaboration in Machine or Engine systems
- Prior Supervisory Experience
- Experience with New Product Introduction, Continuous Product Improvement, APQP processes
- Experience with business plan management, including budgeting, actuals tracking, and capital processes
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes
- Strong interpersonal skills
