This position, working with the engineering departments of Walter North America and Walter Global, is responsible for all the engineering department and the successful delivery of projects and quotations in a timely and accurate manner. The Engineering Manager will supervise engineering personnel, provide technical assistance regarding special projects, problem solving, and prioritization of workflow to ensure customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for gathering and maintaining current industry and competitive information, measuring potential product impact, and suggesting future business direction.Main Responsibilities:Quoting of ProductsSupervise the project and quote engineering department personnel and workflow.Collect necessary information to generate accurate and timely quotes.Analyze customer needs to ensure requested tool(s) are within WALTER capability.Present quotes and drawings to customers to ensure understanding of the product.Utilize provided CAD, SAP, CAPP, CAT, and ENGIN costing systems for quote generation.Collect and analyze quote dispositions to determine reasons for denied proposals.Special ProjectsDevelop concepts to meet customer needs in conjunction with sales personnel.Generate quotes and prints for tools including necessary specifications and cost savings.Oversee manufacturing of special tools to meet customer needs and delivery deadlines.Provide engineering support at initial startup of manufacturing and during production.Facilitate problem-solving for modifications during production.Follow-up on proposed modifications of existing tools.Complete documentation of data generated throughout the testing process of special projects.Complete ROI sheets to illustrate cost savings of special project tools.Technology CenterDevelop machining processes and execute locally.Collect necessary information for customer presentations and demos.Bring new tool concepts globally to local Tech Center.Provide information regarding Industry 4.0 and WALTER services.Generate CNC programs using dedicated software.Generate complete processes for manufacturing.Machining customer workpieces in-house to demonstrate WALTER solutions as needed.Education and Experience:Undergraduate degree in engineering with 8-10 years' experience in the cutting tool industry.Knowledge of cutting tool applications, designs, and manufacturing required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Project supervision experience in coordinating efforts towards successful project conclusions.Knowledge of CNC machine programming.Professional demeanor with an exemplary attitude towards colleagues and customers.Searching area: QueretaroSend your application no later than June 19th, 2024 to rhmexico@sandvik
