Scorpios is now looking to build a highly dedicated team to drive the brand to its highest potential. Job Description Scorpios Tulum is seeking an Engineering Manager to elevate our property, encompassing both our hotel and beach club, as a top destination in the region. This role entails the management and operation of all facility systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures with efficiency and safety as top priorities. Your responsibilities will be vital in safeguarding the integrity and functionality of our property's assets, including the structural elements of our buildings and beach club facilities. Pre-opening Responsibilities: Design and develop the local Engineering Department, implementing Scorpios SOPs to the local market and culture, reflecting the Scorpios Brand essence. Collaborate with the FP&A team to establish and manage budgets and plans for the engineering department, ensuring effective financial management from the outset. Work alongside the Procurement team to streamline resource and equipment management processes, laying the foundation for efficient operations.Operational Responsibilities: Implement sustainable environmental practices and optimize operational efficiency throughout the property, contributing to ongoing cost control and resource utilization. Control maintenance costs through meticulous budgeting and reporting, ensuring financial prudence while maintaining operational effectiveness. Assist in capital project planning to ensure alignment with Scorpios' strategic objectives, contributing to the property's long-term success. Execute energy management programs aimed at reducing consumption without compromising guest experiences, enhancing the property's sustainability efforts. Enhance guest satisfaction by providing prompt and proactive technical support, addressing any engineering-related issues efficiently.Executional Responsibilities: Uphold safety and comfort standards by adhering to statutory regulations and fire codes, ensuring a secure environment for guests and staff. Conduct required inspections and tests on facility systems, maintaining compliance and accurate documentation to meet regulatory standards. Build and lead a technically proficient and motivated engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Coordinate with internal and external partners for the maintenance and upgrading of physical assets, optimizing asset performance and longevity. Supervise external contractors to ensure the delivery of cost-effective and efficient services, maintaining high standards of quality and service. Represent the engineering department in management meetings, collaborating with other department heads to ensure integrated operations and alignment with organizational goals.Requirements: Mandatory Requirements: At least 4 years of experience in a similar positionBackground in luxury or ultra-luxury properties.Strong leadership skills with a focus on trust, transparency, and goal achievement.Ability to identify challenges, innovate processes, and manage them effectively.Clear thinker with calm problem-solving abilities.Physically able to perform various duties in different work areas.Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written); additional proficiency will be a plus.International experience is a plus Benefits Scorpios offers a competitive salary with career development opportunities, based on the candidate's qualifications and skills.
